kangaroo stuff

Many people ask me about kangaroo whenever I get back from Australia.

During our first weekend here, one of the Aussies I work with lent me her car, so we drove to Healesville Sanctuary, and amazing wildlife park about an hour outside Melbourne. They had many native animals, such as platypus, koala, and of course kangaroo:

Cute, aren't they?

And they are really like deer here. In fact, my Aussie friend hit one on the road a week or so before we arrived. This is what her car looked like after makeshift repairs from the hit:

What a Kangaroo can do to a car

She was lucky that she was not hurt and her car was stil driveable.

Earlier this week we were in the meat section of the grocery store.

Guess what we're cooking up for dinner tomorrow night?

Oh, Yes.

Kangaroo.

So how was it? We've had it at work a few times and I always found it to be a little tough.

I haven't heard of Kangaroo hunting, the meat in the store comes from Kangaroo farms...There are rednecks, they are called bogans (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bogan).
