Well, I suppose I'll have to get some virtual flowers going on, seeing as tomorrow is May.
A few weekends ago, I went to the Melbourne International Flower and Garden show, the LARGEST flower show in the southern hemisphere!
I wandered around the outdoor and indoor gardening exhibits, seeing different types of pots, garden tools, furniture and many, many seedlings. It had me longing for my return to PA where I can get some serious ass container gardening action going on on my balcony. It also fueled the deeper aspiration of one day actually owning a home with (gasp!) a yard with a veggie patch and happy flowers everywhere.

There were also artistic flower arrangements and displays in the show, here was my favorite:

Also, WAY back in December, I took a little drive out to the Victoria State Rose Garden. It was a hot, sunny summer day, and the roses were still magnificent.

Top: Fragrant Plum, Paul's Lemon Pillar, Our Rosamund
Bottom: Avon, Fintona, Joy of Life
It is true, you really DO need to take time to stop and smell the roses.

Our backyard, so far this year, has had daffodils, irises, and the first hint of a rose today! Sunflowers and others still are living inside due to the cold nights. Can't wait till you are back and we can enjoy flowers together! Beautiful pics!
