Sorry about missing last week, folks, it was a busy weekend. So, I have lumped last week's wines with this week's. Enjoy!
Geppetto Merlot - year? - I believe I reviewed thier shiraz the other week. The shiraz was great, and this merlot is also fabulous. Since normally I find merlot to be a bit, well, boring, this is a grand compliment.
Cape Mentelle-Marmaduke-2003- A blend of shiraz, grenache, and mataro grapes. I really liked this wine. It was slightly dry and spicy, but not to bitter.
Goundrey Homestead Chenin Blanc - 2004 - I really like chenin blanc. It is sweet, but not sickeningly sweet and is not too oaky, as I find some chardonnays. I enjoyed this wine, I think it would be a good wine to bring to a picnic or BBQ, it's not too complicated and would go well with any type of summer dish.
cleanskin - 2005 Grenache Rose from McClaren Vale - it was alright, but slightly tart for my tastes. I prefer a pinot noir rose or white shiraz if I am going to go for a rose wine.
Only a few more weeks to go and still so many wines to try! yikes!

Obligatory Sideways quote:
Jack:If they want to drink Merlot, we're drinking Merlot.
Miles:No, if anyone orders Merlot, I'm leaving. I am NOT drinking any fucking Merlot!
