Just in time for Christmas

Well, the Christmas cards have officially been put in the mail. I dropped them at the post office this morning to get their special happy christmas city stamp thingy.

I think that the domestic cards should get to their intended destination JUST in time for the holiday. I am sure that my friends and family will breathe huge sighs of relief, saying, "A holiday card from Hamster_Grrl arriving on the 23rd! Just in time! Christmas is saved!!!"

But lo, I fear that the cards destined for Australia will be a few days late. D'oh! Oh well, they are all living it up on the beach and having fabulous BBQs, I think Aussie Chrissy will be safe without my good tidings.

Also, my jolly car has decided to give me a Christmas present: rattling when I accelerate and a little bit when the gears shift! Shit!

It still runs, and I was hoping that I could ride it out until next year when I get back from Vegas to worry about it.

But, today I followed DancingFish to the autoshop to get her car inspected. On the way home, the check engine light came on. It was like my car was saying, "what? we're not staying at the autoshop so the nice men in jumpsuits can change my oil and fix the rattle? Don't you hear the rattling? Maybe your radio is up to loud. You can't ignore the light!! Take me back to the jumpsuits!!!"

So, I made an appointment for tomorrow, so the car only needs to keep running until tomorrow morning. *fingers crossed*
