So JayAre tagged me the other day with this fun little piece of blog fodder.
How it works is that I list 6 weird things about myself, then tag 6 bloggers by posting a comment on their blogs telling them about it and then they will list 6 weird things about themselves on their blogs and hilarity will ensue.
Now, I understand that pretty much everything that I have ever written in this blog is evidence of my weirdness. So, to narrow it down to 6 was a challenge. I thought and thought and have decided on the 6 that tend to make people go "uh..." "hm" or sit in stunned silence when they catch of glimpse of just how deep the Weird goes.
1. I am on a quest to discover why sticks of margarine are different shapes in different parts of the country. Yes, they are. Here in PA, and in TX a stick of margarine is longer and thinner than in NV and CA. No, it's not a brand thing. The SAME BRAND of margarine makes different shaped sticks in the west than in the east. Why???? WHY????? I've called the numbers, I've sent an email, and haven't found the answer. I try not to think about it too much since it vexes me, it vexes me so.*
2. I call the customer service numbers on food. Not like every day or anything, but when I have questions about shelf life and such. They usually send coupons. It's pretty awesome.
3. I have never smoked pot. Not even once.
4. I say, "Tell me about it, sister" to everyone. Heterosexual men tend to react to this the strongest.
5. I have gone to Star Trek conventions. It is a father-daughter bonding experience for me and my dad. I've seen William Shatner speak twice. He once told us that he was working on a movie for the Sci-Fi network. He said, "I can't tell you much about it. All I can say is.....FIRE!!!" in the way that only Shatner could.
6. I have read all 12 books in the original Left Behind series. This is only weird since I can probably count the number of times I have gone to church in my life on my hands. The books could be about unicorns and wizards rather than jesus and the antichrist for all I care, the first 5 books were good, and I got into the series.
Well, that's my 6. It was such fun! I hope that Sparkle, DancingFish, Snex, Jeff S., Blondie, and Fede** enjoy it as much as I did, because they are SO tagged!
Mwahahahahahaha!
*No one believes me when I tell them this. When I go to Las Vegas at the end of the month I am going to take pictures and present photographic evidence. Oh, the vexation!
**Fede, I can't comment on your blog because I am not on MySpace, so you'll have to consider this your tag. Fie upon Myspace!!

*i* believe you about the butter. they're clearly short and fat and don't fit the butter dish right out here.
I have now responded... You can check the results in my blog.
I believe you because I have seen it first hand... I never thought about before though. But you are totally right about the butter.
Hooray for you listing weird things! No one else I tagged has done it, they are a bunch of slackers.
I've seen both butter and margarine packaged both ways in a several parts of the country (CA, TX, IL, KY, GA, PA), sometimes even some of the brands both ways in the same store.
What I donn't have, though, is a good sample of the offerings in some of those regions (CA, TX, KY). So maybe in NV the short fat kind reigns.
Thank you guys for validating my margarine stuff. It warms my heart to know that there are people out there who understand.
I WISH that I could see the same brand of margarine both sizes in the same store, it would provide the best photographic evidence. As of now, I plan to buy margarine in Las Vegas and take some pictures of all of its dimensions.
If only I could find out why they are different. I have a theory that it could be because in hotter climates the shorter fatter stick resists melting better, but it could just as easily not be that reason.
I've already done this meme about a month ago (or maybe longer). WHEW! Now I don't have to feel as guilty for not getting here quicker...well not quite as guilty anyway. :) :)
