one fish, two fish

Recently, I got a new fish. A lovely shiny new red betta:

Grr...he's a fierce looking guy! I am trying to find a good name for the little fella.
I already have one (blue) fish called Basil, so I was thinking about something else along the spicy line of names, like paprika, thyme, or curry paste. Any suggestions?

it looks like cilantro is winning, but i'm a little partial to curry paste for some reason. it just sounds fun to say.

also, is basil english or american? cause if he's english the new guy should be coriander instead of cilantro, eh?

well, on second thought, they don't both have to be from the commonwealth, do they?

Basil is English, so yes, it should be coriander.

The point is a little moot, though, as I hate cilantro/coriander with a passion (it makes me gag if I can taste it too much in anything). So strong is my dislike that naming my fish cilantro or coriander would be akin to naming him Hitler (who also makes me gag a little).

hmm...curry paste. It does have a ring to it.

I think you should call it paprika, pronounced to rhyme with Caprica (the planet in Battlestar Galactica).
