Australian Public Holidays: June edition

Hey everyone! It's the second Monday in June!

It's the Queen's Birthday !! Yay!

While it is not actually the day the Queen Elizabeth II was born,it is the observed birthday for the current monarch of Great Britain.

Most people seem to celebrate the Queen's birthday weekend by shopping and travelling, since for most, it is a 3-day weekend.

The Universities, however, do not observe the public holiday, so classes were still held and people like me had to go to work. It was not bad, though, it rained all day and it's winter so it's not like I was missing a day at the beach or anything.

I would say that the American analogue of this holiday is Washington's Birthday (President's Day).

Fun Fact!
There are 12 public holidays in Victoria, Australia.
