Hallelujah!
I am finally configured for internet access in my otherwise spartan dorm room where I am living safe and sound outside of Melbourne!
Also, I got a mobile phone today!
And, a girl in the lab let me use her car for the weekend!
It is a day of technological leaps and bounds in the life of hamster_grrl down under.
I have many, many things to write about, including tales of how much my friends in the US ROCK, how the people here in Australia also rock, and the glamour of living in a dorm again after having thought that a college degree = no more dorm living.
But first, I have to catch up on all my blog reading and emailing since I have not had time to use the internet for non-work related activities for the last week!

Welcome back! Glad to see you are doing well. Can't wait to hear about all your latest- I miss you!
i can add 'the return of hamster_grrl' to the list of things i'm thankful for this thanksgiving weekend.
w00t!
Thanks you guys! I miss you too and I am thankful to be back online after too many days away! I hope your Holiday weekends were fabulous. I keep forgetting it was Thanksgiving, as they don't celebrate it here and I am having lots of problems remembering what day it is ever (long days in November throw me off).
Hey, great to know your travels went well (or at least got you there). It's good to hear that someone has internet access. Ours finally died last week, and we're down to dialup on the laptop. Ugh.
I forgot to mention, since you left, the temperature has hit 19 degrees, and it snowed (but melted). Because it wasn't snowing at the lunch or dinner hour, I didn't get to grill in the snow (yet).
Too bad about the dialup, spirko.
Yeah, this past weekend it was down to 19 here in Melbourne as well, it was a bit slightly too cool to go to the beach. :p
