Vegas adventures pt. 2: VEGOOSE

Saturday was day 1 of the VEGOOSE festival!

I arrived at the show shortly after the gates into the stadium opened and parked really, really far away.
walking in from parking

I wandered around, checking out the scene and stages and taking many, many, pictures. In the middle of the bazaar area they had a giant demonic looking pumkin with a tie and glasses, slowly spinning and watching everyone at the show.

Great pumpking minions!

Spooky, eh?

I saw the N. Mississippi Allstars, a little bit of String Cheese Incident, and Devendra Barnhart, all fantastic music for laying on the grass and enjoying the Las Vegas warm October sunshine! The highlight of the day was watching the Decemberists. I have seen them a few times with DancingFish here in the PA-NJ-NY area, and each and every show has been a HOOT!

The Bizarro Decemberists

The best part of the show was when they decided to switch instruments in the middle of a song (Chimbley Sweep, pictured above) and went into a sort of free-form confused jam for about 15 minutes. I have always seen them at night, and being able to dance barefoot on the grass to them in the bright sunshine was fabulous! Well...until I was eaten by a whale AAUUGGHH!!!!!

Sadly, I did not see Beck, who played later that night, because I had to leave after the Decemberists to prepare for the High School Reunion!

Next adventure: The Reunion!!
