Summertime, and the living is easy

Overheard at lunch the other day:

"I really hope to get another beach day in before Christmas"

Today is the first official day of Summer here.
It was 92 degrees.
I went to the beach after work and went for a little swim.
And now I am thinking about when I am going to get some Christmas shopping in.

As a Northern Hemisphere native, it's wierd, really wierd.

Christmas is even funnier when you are from the Southern hemisphere. There, you are bombarded with the whole Santa in the winterish red outfit, landscapes with snow covered pine trees, and of course the inefable reindeer. As you say, the outside temperature at this time of the year down there could easily melt random stuff you leave outside.

Why call the reindeer inefable? I hear lots of people who hate Christmas complaining about f-ing reindeer.

Inefable in Spanish (at least) has a negative connotation, pretty much as something so bad it shouldn't be mentioned. I think the Southern hemisphere folks should have Santa in swimming trunks and a Hawaiian shirt walking around palm trees... That stuff would make a lot more sense.

And you forgot to mention (or tell us) what happened to the Fondue you got to go!
take care!
