a fond farewell

The following night, the girls (Mack, NattieV, Amandamonkey, DancingFish, and Snex) took me out to the Melting Pot, a heavenly fondue place.

Best. Meal. Ever.

Whoever thought it would be a good idea to start a meal off with fresh vegetables, bread and apples dipped in melted cheesy goodness deserves a Nobel Prize.

Seriously.

And dessert? Well, a picture really is worth a thousand words, even if the only word is mmmmm.....

dessert platter

dipped in white chocolate and amaretto or peanut butter and chocolate. sigh

It was such a fun night, hanging out with the ladies, chatting and dipping and gasping with awe at the amount of food before us. Thanks again, ladies, for a fabulous night! I am so lucky to have friends like you and I am especially thankful that we all made it through the night without any skewer or boiling cheese mishaps!

The next night I returned to the Funhouse to see the Kites (my 2nd favorite Funhouse band). And, lo and behold, the Boy from the Unpronounceable was there!!! Turns out that the Kites are his 2nd favorite band at the Funhouse as well! Just my luck that I would meet someone with the potential to be my soul mate* a week before I leave the country for several months. I reckon if it's meant to be then he'll be around when I get back. No worries.

*my funhouse bands are important tests of whether a guy has what it takes to be my soul mate

It was such a fun night at the Melting Pot!! When you get back, maybe we'll all have burned off enough calories to go again!

I miss you here at the office!! It's just not the same without you!

Thanks, man! I hope that you are putting all that empty space on my desk to good use! Just don't let anyone steal my chair!!!
