Wines of the Week

Scotchmans Hill Swan Bay 2004 Rose - I liked this wine, it had good pinot noir taste but was not too heavy. It is slightly watery and bitter, but a fine wine for a warm evening.

Gunn Estate 2005 Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand) - this wine was OK. There is alot of fruit in the nose, but this fruitiness does not come through in the taste. The taste is a bit more acidic than I like, and that flavor stands out over any others. It doesn't really have any personality.

Yering Station 2004 Shiraz Viognier - very nice. The shiraz spiciness really pops in this wine, and the viognier brings a sweet fruitiness to the party. I liked this wine better alone than with food. The best of this week!
