Wines of the Week

This past week I tried to sample wines that had names that amused me.

Gramp's Five Genereations Cabernet Merlot 2003 - This was an alright cab merlot. Not horrible, not fantastic, just alright. I'd bring it to a casual dinner party, but not a special occasion.

Bidgeebong Triangle Chardonnay - 2004 - Bidgeebong. How fun is it to say that? The wine was quite pleasant. Not too oaky or dry, and good with food or on its own. Plus, it's called Bidgeebong. tee hee

Pizzini Rosetta - 2005 - I brought this to a Good Friday fish dinner party. It was very nice, smooth, sweet and fit perfectly with the massive amounts of seafood I devoured.

I think I visited the wine store for the last time today *sniff*. I have 9 bottles of wine which should just about last the 4 weeks I have left in Australia. I'm going to miss that wine store. So many choices and such reasonable prices. There are still so many wines I have yet to try. Sigh. I'll just have to come back again one day.

have you tried shoo fly? someone brought it to our easter/pesach celebration yesterday.

it wasn't my favourite, but sort of wondered if it would be better if i hadn't eaten a bunch of candy with it.

Do not despair... you can always go back there for more. Maybe you should visit them and get a couple of cases for the flight back.

9 bottles, 4 weeks...your math skills seem to be lacking...by my calculations you should need at least 28 bottles...

Sparkle - shoo fly? Hmm, I haven't tried it, but I will keep an eye out for it.

Fede - I don't think I can bring a couple of cases back with me, but I am double checking the customs requirements.

Nattie - ah, I am just counting the bottles I'll drink at home, not the ones I try while I am out and about in the city...
