Happiness is some warm gravy (Best Vacation Ever, day 3)

After two hectic days on the lake, sanestperson and I spent most of the day sleeping. We took a quick swim in the lake, where I promptly lost my sunglasses and we had to walk carefully around the area, feeling around with our feet until I found them! Yay!

Then we went to cocktail hour at Club Dada to see one of my old favorite Texas cover bands, Hard Nights Day. It was such a fun show, everyone in the audience was dancing and singing to all the songs. I was disappointed that Hippy Guy wasn't there this time. No black spandex bike shorts and tie-dyed shirt dancing in front of the stage like no one is watching. Oh, Hippy Guy, where have you gone?

Hard night's day

Here is Hippy Guy getting down with his lady last year at the Bone. It's fun to dance with Hippy Guy!

Following Hard Night's Day was The Valentines, a pretty rockin' band who played a kick-ass version of Helter Skelter and gave out FREE CDs of their original stuff. They have a kind of Killers/Franz Ferdinand/Strokes vibe and I like it. I like it good.

After the show we got some Whataburger. Mmm.....chicken strips, texas toast, french fries and some country gravy. Everything gets dipped in the gravy, of course. It's pure heaven. Completely unhealthy, but heaven. The perfect ending to a happy night of drinking.

Damn, I miss that gravy.
