before and after

Squeeeee!!!!

I got my car back from the body shop, and it's so SHINY! Not only did they fix all the bumps and bruises on the car, but they washed it and even cleaned out the inside! That in and of itself was a feat, since I was just about at the point of driving to a landfill, opening my car door and just pushing all the crap that's been collecting in my car out the door.

But seriously, look what a pretty job they did!

point of impact closeup point of impact fixed!

You can't even tell I got hit! Plus, they ended up not needing to replace the rear quarter panel. I learned alot about how my car is put together from the body shop guy. I am probably the only person that finds that stuff fascinating, so I won't bore you with the details.

But I will bore you with more pictures!!
DSC06894 tree trunk print

They removed the tree trunk print, the branch scratches, as well as all scratches around the doorhandle from me forgetting to retract my adamantine claws when I open my car door. Seriously, I don't know how those little stcrathes got there. But they're gone now! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

tree impact tree dent fixed!

I was so happy that was fixable, I thought for sure that the frame was going to be bent. I now know that the VW body will sustain a direct hit from a 4-inch diameter tree at roughly 15 mph and be repairable. I wouldn't try that at home, though, kids.

DSC06855 wheel back in the right place

Most importantly, the wheel is now perpendicular to both the body of the car and the road, which I have found to be necessary when one wants to actually drive the car successfully. But yay!

I missed my lovely car, I feel like a totally privileged capitalist American pig-dog being so excited by the return of a material possession, but oh well.

It's just. so. shiny!

It's been a month. I've missed that crayon smell*. *sniff* *sigh*

*Yes, my car smells ike crayons, I don't know why, but it always has. I've discovered that some Jettas just do that. I am not the only one.

Hey,

congrats on getting your car up and running. Today, I saw a Crayola themed cake and I thought of your car. I was about to get it for you, but I got greedy and went back to the ice cream section instead.

Dear Wolkvagen consumer,

Ve haft decided that throught careful research and testing that by creating a crayon type smell in our autos that we can affect a sense of playfulness and childishness in that our customers find pleasing. Ve call this effect Craolyafeldenschundeerhappenzeegarden. If you find any small wax crayons in your gloft box, please not to be alarmed.
