It was the fifth time I have seen the Decemberists, and the fourth time that I have seen them with DancingFish. I love going to shows with her because she knows how to find the few remaining spots with a good view in a crowded venue. And, she'll jump up and down and sing with me when we're both sober (or drunk, whichever).
I got a couple of mildly obscured pictures:

One of the most amusing parts of the show, though, did not take place on stage. There was a couple sitting right in front of where I was standing, and they were making out during the ENTIRE show. Sometimes it was just snuggling or a couple of short kisses on the neck, but at one point the guy gave the girl a full back rub, for like 15 minutes. I thought he was going to pull a bottle of flavoured oil out of his pocket, take her shirt off and give her a rub down with his tongue.
Now, I am not the type of person that is offended by public displays of affection. I think it is fantastic when people are in love and can't keep their hands off each other. Why not celebrate that? Kiss in public, shout your proclamations of love or lust to the world! Yeah! The only time I am ever really annoyed with it is if I am trying to have a conversation with one or both of them but the making out gets in the way. But that's more about my general annoyance when people can't be bothered to be present in conversations than with the PDA, per se.
But this couple, they were being so intimate, I almost felt like I was invading their privacy. I would be watching the band, singing and jumping, and then I'd look down and see heavy petting. It just wasn't what I expected.

Maybe it was the sexy red globe lights that put them in the mood.

I get offended when I see someone put a hand INSIDE someone else's clothes in public. That pretty much grosses me out.
The Decemberists are sooooo awsome. I'm officially jealous. I still marvel at their ability to pack so much story and context into a two, er... three er... eight minute song.
