Sidewalk stories

So the pavement and I have been having some issues lately.

It seems that concrete and I are pretty tight, and occasionally it wants to get really close to me really quickly. This can be disconcerting.

A couple of months ago, I was walking with my boss after class one day, just chatting and walking (a dangerous combination), when I didn't pick up my foot correctly and my flip-flop didn't quite make it with me through the whole step. The shoe turned, my foot couldn't plant and BAM, I was on the sidewalk. I skinned my knee, my foot, and one of my toes. The biggest thing hurt was my pride.

Then, today, I was walking along talking to my friend V, and I stepped on some uneven pavement. My ankle turned and BAM! I was on the ground. My pants tore at the knee (dammit!) , and some skin was taken off, and time will see how the ankle that turned will recover.

After the initial shock of spontaneously falling, it struck me as hilarious.

I keep thinking of the people I was with. I mean, we were just walking along, chatting, and then all of a sudden I was gone. How surreal.

i always laugh when i trip and fall. except that one time when i ended up spread eagle face down in the middle of the crosswalk. then i was afraid i'd be too short for the cars to see, so i scuttled off the road first, and then laughed.

I'm with sparkle, I totally laugh when I fall. And Mark totally laughs four times a day when I stub my toes.
