After an all too brief two-hour nap, I woke dark and early to experience some Black Friday shopping adventure with my friend and neighbor, Jeff S.
Our first stop was Best Buy. I noticed that there seemed to be many cars parked in the parking lot. Then, I noticed the staggering line that was in front of the store, and then made its way around the building and through a fair amount of the parking lot. It was about 3:50 when we arrived at the end of the line, and there were roughly 650 people in front of us!
After about a half an hour in line, I gave up on my Best Buy dreams, and we went to an Office Depot down the road. When we arrived there were about a dozen people lined up and so we played computer games in the parking lot until it seemed that the line was getting too long.
The store opened, and I managed to find absolutely nothing that I wanted. I had started to be disappointed with the shopping plans. We had chatted a bit with the folks ahead of us in the Office Depot line, and they had made it in an out in under a half an hour so we decided to try our luck there.
And, like a pheonix rising from its ashes, my dream of Best Buy Black Friday deals were resurrected and attained their full glory! I got a new controller and some memory for my gamecube, a zelda game, Lego Star Wars II, a 2GB memory stick for my camera (woo hoo! more movies!!), the new Beck CD, and the special editions of Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Blazing Saddles. It was fabulous!!!
Sadly, I realized that my gloves were an accidental casualty in the shopping endeavor. They fell out of my pocket somewhere in either Best Buy or Office Depot. I don't know which one. I am going to call both stores in the morning to see if anyone has turned them in to the lost and found, but I fear that they are lost forever.
On the way home, we stopped at Staples, which was awesome! I got a new phone, some CD jewel cases, and a free surge protector! Yay free! If only they also sold gloves.
We finished early enough for me to get home, unload my new toys, and then go get DancingFish so we could venture out to Kraemer Yarn store for their Black Friday sale. I picked up some skeins of my favorite fiber, alpaca!
I came home for a long-awaited and much needed nap before heading out to see G. Love and Special Sauce. What a show! I had forgotten how sexy G. Love is. Damn, he is a good looking, tall drink of water. Whether I was watching his mouth move as he sang or his hips gyrate as he played the guitar, I was constantly and thoroughly entertained.
The only downside was having to park right across from a nitrous tank and the having to peel idiotic, dazed out adolescents off of my car at the end of the night. I felt old and crotchety. 'You kids get off my car!!' *shakes fist*
Hopefully rain will come soon to wash the handprints and whatever else prints off of the hood of my car. Yeah, I know I could go to a car wash, but I prefer to let the good lord wash my car. That's how I roll.

You should've told them that You'd Turn the Car Around if they didn't get off of it!
i heart g love..and you are quite brave for going to stores on black friday.
I can NOT believe you went shopping on Black Friday. I would need lots and lots of medication to make it through that. Congrats on all the good buys. I am jealous!
I have to admit I was a little nervous about the Black Friday shopping, but it turned out to be much less traumatic than I thought it would be. I daresay I may do it again next year, but with a more structured plan.
